VDAB and partnerships
What the official VDAB partnership means, and who else we work with.
Frequently asked questions
Find an answer quickly
Is Werkvolk an official partner of the VDAB?
Yes. Werkvolk is an official partner of the VDAB, the Flemish public employment and vocational training service. That recognition confirms that you are working with a reliable platform to find skilled workers.
What is the VDAB?
The VDAB is the public employment service of Flanders. It helps jobseekers into work, organises vocational training and supports employers in finding staff. For most Flemish jobseekers, the VDAB is the official point of contact.
What does the partnership mean for employers?
Two things. First, reach: your vacancy appears automatically on the VDAB website without you having to enter it there separately. Second, reassurance: you are working with a platform recognised by the public employment service of Flanders.
What does the partnership mean for jobseekers?
That the vacancies you see in the app come from real employers who also recruit through the official channels. Werkvolk contributes to a stronger Flemish labour market instead of building a closed island next to it.
Do I need to be registered with the VDAB to use Werkvolk?
No. The Werkvolk app is open to anyone looking for work in our region, whether you are unemployed, already working or still studying. You do not need a VDAB file to create a profile.
Does Werkvolk replace the VDAB?
No, we sit alongside it. The VDAB guides, trains and mediates. Werkvolk is a matching platform that brings skilled workers and employers together directly. You can use both, and thanks to the partnership they reinforce each other.
Does anything change about my VDAB file or guidance if I apply through Werkvolk?
Werkvolk changes nothing about your file with the VDAB or your guidance track. If you have specific questions about your benefit, your availability or your obligations, raise those with your VDAB adviser: they know your situation and we do not.
Do you also work with schools and training centres?
Yes. Werkvolk has partnership agreements with technical schools, where we run sessions ourselves, and with training centres. Newly trained skilled workers flow straight through to the platform, and employers see that back in their candidate supply.
Where can I read more about your partnerships?
Our partners page explains what the VDAB partnership involves and what it means for you in practice. New collaborations are added there as soon as they are finalised.
