If you are looking for a free OCAI test, I want to be clear about what Werkvolk offers. Our personal culture test is free and uses our own workplace scenarios based on the Competing Values Framework. It is not the original OCAI instrument.
OCAI, CVF and Werkvolk are different things
CVF is the framework we use to discuss four cultural perspectives: collaboration, innovation, performance and structure.
OCAI means Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument and is based on the CVF. For the original instrument, see the Cameron Institute and the official OCAI website.
Werkvolk's test uses its own scenarios about work. Your result describes how you experience your workplace. Research supporting another instrument does not automatically validate our questionnaire.
What does the free culture test include?
You can start without registering first. Answer the scenarios from your own experience. At the end, create a free profile to see your result. It gives you a personal starting point for a conversation about your work environment.
I would not present one person's result as the culture of an entire company. Colleagues can experience the same arrangements very differently.
When do you need a team assessment?
Comparing teams, discussing leadership perspectives or repeating an assessment goes beyond an individual introduction. Culture Suite is the standalone product for team and organization assessments. You do not need a vacancy. Check the pricing calculator for base and participation costs.
How do you choose a questionnaire?
Start with the question you want to answer, rather than an acronym. Check which questions the tool uses, what a score means, what evidence is available and who can access results. If you specifically need the original OCAI, use its official provider. If you want to explore your own experience first, you can start Werkvolk's free test.
My advice: choose a tool that fits the decision you need to make, and interpret the result alongside concrete examples from work.
