As a stonemason, you cut, work and place natural stone. The job is also known as stone cutter, marble worker or stone placer. You set up and prepare the site, select the stone types according to the cutting plan and determine the working method. You bring natural stone elements to size, apply manual or machine cutting techniques and finish the elements before you place the stone on site. Sometimes you sculpt, engrave or restore natural stone. You always follow the safety rules and clean up the site afterwards. In Vlaanderen you work in construction finishing, in workshops, restoration projects and on building and monument sites.
