What will you do?
Working as a solar panel installer or heat pump technician, you prepare the site, fit and mount the panels, connect the devices electrically and tidy the site afterwards. You maintain and repair the installations, always working safely and with respect for the environment. In Belgium this role bridges the finishing stage of construction and the installation and maintenance of energy systems, so technical insight and a feel for green technology matter every day.

From preparation to your first day
Develop the practical skills
First learn one complete installation chain, such as solar collector to storage cylinder or PV panels to inverter. Practise reading connection drawings, checking mounting conditions and commissioning with an experienced technician.
Check your work
Check more than whether the appliance starts: controls, heat delivery or generation should suit the operating conditions. Document settings, user handover and tasks assigned to other appropriately qualified tradespeople.
How can you grow?
You can specialise in PV service, hydraulic balancing, heat-pump technology or site coordination. Work on refrigerant circuits carries different requirements from mounting or hydraulic connections; keep these scopes distinct.

Does general training qualify you for every renewable-energy installation?
Not automatically. PV work requires different practical experience from thermal systems. Ask which appliances, connections, diagnostic tasks and commissioning tests you will actually practise and which additional authorisations the intended role requires.
