Your foundation for this occupation
The operator trains you in fares, systems and procedures. Ask about selection and the specific role's authority. Inspectors do not have identical powers to police. Learn clear communication and correct referral.
From preparation to your first day
Develop the practical skills
Practise different valid products and ambiguous cases. Hear the passenger and verify data before recording findings. Follow team arrangements and consider others. Use trained conflict handling and support.
Check your work
Record facts completely, separating observation from reported statements. Protect personal data. Seek feedback on wording: concise need not be unfriendly. Accurate records support fair follow-up.
How can you grow?
Progress to coaching, planning or other roles. Ask about bus, tram or metro deployment, shifts and team size. Discuss support after difficult incidents.

Do all transport inspectors have the same powers?
No. Role, appointment and operator determine the framework. Learn what you may establish and when to seek help, rather than copying another service.
