What will you do?
Working as an industrial electrician or maintenance electrician, you inspect the installations, diagnose faults and define the interventions on the equipment. You solve breakdowns, repair defects and run the preliminary tests before you put an installation back under voltage. You keep clear work records and always work safely and with respect for the environment.

Your foundation for this occupation
You work with motors, control cabinets, power circuits and electrical faults in production environments. Distinguishing a supply problem from a control fault or a fault in the driven equipment is essential. For work involving electrical risks, the employer determines BA4 or BA5 authorisation for the tasks and installations concerned, considering knowledge, experience and instructions. Completing a course does not automatically grant that authorisation. Ask which site and safety training applies to your assignment.
From preparation to your first day
Develop the practical skills
Learn to identify contactors, motor protection and their control circuit on a training panel. Then follow a supervised fault investigation from the initial report through verification of the repaired machine.
Check your work
Compare actual connections with the current drawing and record measurement conditions. A motor running again is not a complete handover: rotation, load and protective functions must also be checked as specified.

You can specialise in drives, industrial panels, preventive maintenance or technical team leadership. Drive knowledge and cooperation with mechanical and automation colleagues broaden the roles you can take on.
