What will you do?
The role is also known as furnace operator, process operator glass production or melter in the glass industry. From a control room you watch over the production and control equipment, check that everything runs to specification and step in when a deviation or fault occurs. You verify the production order and stock, set the machine parameters, monitor the melt and control the quality of the glass.

Process technology provides a foundation for monitoring glass production. Ask whether the vacancy concerns melting, forming or another stage and what glass is made. Develop the practical skills
Practise reading trends and connecting alerts to the correct plant area. Record changes and ongoing follow-up at handover. Link samples and product checks to the correct time. A continuous process requires continuity across shifts rather than attention only to your own production period.
Check your work
Check agreed product characteristics and report deviations with time and process context. Distinguish a measurement problem from an observed product defect. Stay within your instructions and involve the responsible person when uncertain. Heat and moving equipment require an orderly approach even while production continues.

You can specialise in melting supervision, forming, quality monitoring or shift coordination. Ask how control-room work and plant duties are divided. Compare continuous shifts, product type and training duration. A clear handover example is more useful at interview than simply describing yourself as technical.
