What will you do?
You perform assigned maintenance using current technical documents. You inspect systems, work on components and record actions and findings precisely. Performing and releasing maintenance have separate authorisations.

Your foundation for this occupation
Aircraft technical education covers systems, maintenance documents and precision. Distinguish performing maintenance under organisational procedures from releasing it. Certain certifying privileges require the Part-66 pathway; a diploma alone does not allow release of every aircraft. Ask about category, practical experience and type training.
From preparation to your first day
Develop the practical skills
Practise current task cards and correct part and tool identification. Record actions and findings promptly. Replacing a component is complete only after prescribed checks and records. Work within trained and assigned tasks.
Check your work
Check document revision, part data and record completeness. Control tools and materials through organisational arrangements. Report unclear findings before proceeding and explicitly hand over interrupted work. Describe precise, documented maintenance at interview.
How can you grow?
Specialise in mechanical systems, avionics, line or base maintenance. Certifying tasks require appropriate qualifications and organisational authority. Compare hangars, between-flight work, nights and training. Ask how experience is recorded and assessed.
