How does Werkvolk matching work?
A vacancy holds the must-haves, the pay range, the shifts and the location. A profile holds the experience, the certificates, the requirements, the home location and a personality profile. The matching puts those two side by side and works out how well they fit. Skilled workers only see vacancies that match well enough, employers get a ranked list with the reasoning behind every candidate.
What exactly does Werkvolk match on?
Five things: the must-have requirements of the vacancy, the skills and work experience of the candidate, the travel time between home and workplace, the personality of the candidate and the culture of the team you are hiring for. All five count, and you can see how each part scores on every match.
What does the match score mean?
The match score sums up how well a profile and a vacancy line up across those five dimensions. It is a sorting aid, not a verdict on a person. That is why you can always open it up: you see which must-haves are met, which experience counts, how long the trip is and how the personality relates to the team. No black box.
Why does travel time count, and not just distance?
Twenty kilometres down the motorway is not the same as twenty kilometres by bus at five in the morning. Werkvolk calculates the real travel time for the shift you are hiring for, and shows it per mode of transport: by car, by public transport, by bike and on foot. For shift work on a hard to reach site that is often the difference between someone who stays and someone who drops out after a month.
Which personality test do candidates take?
A short test based on the Big Five model, the most researched personality model in work psychology. It takes a few minutes and measures no right or wrong: it describes how someone works. That profile is compared with the culture of the team the employer is hiring for.
Will I receive unsolicited CVs as an employer?
No. You only see candidates who actually saw your vacancy and showed interest in it themselves. There is no consultant forwarding you stacks of profiles, and nobody lands in your list who never laid eyes on your job.
How quickly do I get my first matches as an employer?
For operational roles in Limburg you usually see the first matches within 48 hours. The sharper and rarer your must-haves, the longer it can take before there are enough suitable candidates. Your vacancy keeps running on every channel in the meantime.
How quickly do I get matches as a skilled worker?
As soon as your profile is ready you see the vacancies that suit you today. New ones arrive as employers post them. The wider you set your travel time and your role preferences, the more you get to see.
Can I set must-haves as an employer?
Yes, up to five per vacancy. Think of a valid forklift certificate, a VCA safety certificate, a category C driving licence or willingness to work nights. Candidates who do not meet them never reach your list. Use them deliberately though: every extra must-have shrinks your pool.
Does an algorithm decide whether I get the job?
No. The matching ranks and explains, people decide. The employer chooses who to invite and you choose which vacancies to go for. A match opens a conversation, nothing more and nothing less.
Does the matching improve the more we use it?
Yes. The engine learns from what actually happens: which matches lead to a conversation, where candidates drop out and which vacancies stay open. Employers see that back in their insights, with the five concrete reasons why candidates decline.
