As a vehicle body builder, you build bodywork onto a bare chassis and turn it into a finished vehicle. You are also known as a body upbuilder, a body upbuilder for trucks or a body upbuilder for special vehicles. You assemble and clad metal structures, bring parts to the right dimensions and position them according to your markings. You also install special equipment such as electrical installations, cooling systems, fuel systems or loading and unloading devices, and you check welds and assemblies. Working mostly in the metalworking and machine industry across Flanders and Belgium, you combine manual craft with a strong feel for technique and safety on every job.
