As a store manager, you run the daily organisation of a shop, branch or supermarket with the commercial objectives in mind. The job is also known as shop manager, branch manager or retail manager. You organise the point of sale, analyse the sales results and set sales targets, then you propose adjustments and develop a pricing and promotion strategy. You are responsible for the personnel policy, so you define staffing and training needs, recruit staff and organise their work. You supervise stock management, handle complaints and put the customer at the centre. In Vlaanderen you work in retail, wholesale and supermarket chains within trade and management.
