As an assembly operator you use tools and machines to assemble mechanical parts. You check the production order and method, supply the machines, set the parameters and run an automated production line. You monitor production, solve malfunctions, check the quality of the products and draw up production and incident reports. Safety always comes first, and you keep your workstation clean and in order. The job also goes by names such as assembly fitter, assembly line worker or mechanical assembly operator. In Flanders you work in industry, for example in mechanics, metalworking and machine building, often in shifts and as part of a production team.
