What will you do?
You work according to the hygiene and safety rules and the production requirements. Also known as a mixer-blender, materials preparer or mixture preparer in industry, you check the production method and stock, control raw materials and dose the products. You set the parameters of machines and equipment, start and follow up installations, resolve malfunctions and check product quality.

Your foundation for this occupation
Raw-material preparation follows recipes where material, quantity and sequence matter. Ask which materials are processed and how recipes are approved. Accurate weighing, units and batch identification are essential. Site training also covers cleaning and preventing carryover between jobs.
From preparation to your first day
Develop the practical skills
Work through the order before mixing: confirm material identity, availability, relevant expiry dates and required quantities. Resolve unclear labels before loading. Record actual quantities and additions when they occur; reconstructing them from memory makes errors harder to locate.
Check your work
Check the mixture using the specified method and sampling procedure. Appearance alone does not prove composition. Hold a nonconforming batch pending an authorised decision. During changeovers, inspect residual material and the cleaning status of contact parts.
How can you grow?
Progression can involve more complex preparations, process monitoring or team coordination. Understanding material behaviour and maintaining accurate batch records are useful foundations. State which scales, mixers and checks you have actually used when applying.
