Your foundation for this occupation
A mould changer must identify tooling, follow a changeover plan and handle connections and records carefully. Technical production experience helps, while the specific machines and moulds are learned at work. Ask who carries out lifting, what training is required and who releases the machine after the change.
From preparation to your first day
Develop the practical skills
Observe a complete changeover from preparing the correct mould to handing back to production. Learn to check identification numbers, connection diagrams and attachment-point condition. Site procedures govern energy isolation and heavy-tool handling; speed follows a controlled process rather than replacing it.
Check your work
Check recorded tooling data, connections and visible condition before the agreed release inspection. Report leaks, damaged connectors and missing components. Identify and prepare the removed mould for storage or maintenance as well. Poorly labelled tooling creates problems again when the next order arrives.
How can you grow?
Progression can involve more complex changeovers, mould maintenance or setup preparation. A setting role additionally requires understanding process parameters and product quality. Improvement work often concerns preparation and organisation, not removing safety stages from the changeover.
