How much does a Waiter earn in Belgium?

In Belgium a waiter usually earns between 13 and 17 euro per hour gross. The exact amount depends on your experience, the type of establishment and the joint committee. Evening, weekend and holiday shifts often come with premiums that raise your pay.

What can you grow into as a waiter?

With experience you can grow into a chef de rang or take on coordinating a team and training new staff. Your hospitality skills also open the door to related roles such as cook, kitchen assistant or room attendant, where guest service and a smooth operation come together.

In which sectors and environments does a waiter work?

You work in the hospitality, tourism and leisure sector, in restaurants, brasseries, tearooms and at events and banquets. The work is guest-focused and fast-paced, so it suits people who like contact with people and a lively environment. Shifts often include evenings and weekends.

What is the difference between a waiter and a chef de rang?
